Is Michael part of a municipal political party?
No. Unlike his opponents in the two UCP / "Take back Alberta" aligned parties, Michael is not part of the Danielle Smith/UCP municipal party experiment.
He believes decisions should be made for the city based on public not party need.
Who is donating to Michael's campaign?
Unlike his opponents, Michael has made clear he will not accept any developer donations.
He has vocally opposed the UCP introducing corporate donations in municipal politics as well as the "double dipping" -- municipal candidates that run for a party can receive double the amount of donations.
Tim Cartmell's Better Edmonton party has already received hundreds of thousands of dollars from big suburban developers, downtown parking lot owners and corporations.

Building 8 arterial roads with a total length of 19.6km could cost the city $272 million. The annual operating costs are millions more each year.
If you guessed parking, you might be correct. This list highlights the case for proactive, automated traffic enforcement such as the program in Calgary. I understand our city administration is talking with provincial officials and we hope to have an update on automated parking enforcement at our June 9th Urban Planning Committee.
