My commitment to you: I will not accept a single dollar from developers.

Just like last election, my campaign is grassroots, and runs on contributions from people like you, not big private interests.

Danielle Smith has changed the rules to allow corporations to donate, and political parties to form and have much higher spending limits.

I need your help to defeat the dark money and urban sprawl lobbyists funding my opponents

Did you see the developer lobby launched a campaign last week pushing for more urban sprawl?

I have consistently been opposed to any more sprawl as it is financially ruinous to cities. They pocket the profit while we pay more taxes.

Most of us already know this, but it doesn’t stop developers from pushing for it because sprawl is where they can make their highest profits.

It is why they are eager to make huge donations to municipal candidates. They want to elect people who will benefit them.

My commitment to you: I will not accept a single dollar from developers.

I have chosen to run as an Independent so I can continue to serve folks in Ward papastew, not whoever has the deepest pockets and are seeking to advance their own agendas.

Our strategy doesn’t involve bells or whistles, just honest conversations and hard work.

Dear Readers, this week’s newsletter is all about better public transit. As of Monday December 8th, you can tap to pay with credit/debit/phone on city buses. This will make it more convenient to take transit when you have visitors, ride occasionally, or forget to refill your ARC card.

But I want to share with you some concerning news about uncertainty related to Federal Public Transit Funding...

As the weather turns colder, we are reminded again of the enormous cost of the social and humanitarian crisis on our streets in the richest province in Canada. As a resident of Whyte avenue, I see it everywhere around me. Just last night, a gentleman huddled in a sleeping bag in the alleyway next door.. The invisible become visible, often in transit stations, bus shelters, libraries, the remnants of public spaces.

Following my last post, (Raw Deal in the Region: Edmonton's Free Rider Problem) when you pay your property taxes, a percentage of your taxes are subsidizing the costs of the region, helping offset the taxes for property owners in the region. How much is that amount? And what do we do about it?
